Student Nurse Association Update

The NNU SNA is a student-driven community service club. Last year there were 37 active members, making up 33% of the nursing student body. This group amassed 280+ hours of community service in a variety of activities including:
-    Registration Tables for Boise Susan G. Komen Race of the Cure
-    Registration Tables for Boise March of Dimes event
-    Registration Table for St. Luke’s Womens’ Health Event
-    Sorting medical equipment for Hands of Hope
-    Nutrition Table at West Middle School
Additionally, members collected material goods for community projects including;
-    >200 pounds of food for the Central Elementary Food Pantry 
-    over 50 hats & mittens for the Central Elementary students
-    30 sets of NICU clothing plus 2 bags of newborn clothes
-    A Christmas dinner for a family
-    Holiday cards for inmates at local prisons
-    Decorated 32 pumpkins which were taken to Karcher Estates Assisted Living Unit
 Six members went to the state SNA Conference. Conference sponsors reported that the NNU students were the most active and attentive of all the participants. Our current President, Amanda Peutz, has been nominated for the State President office for next year.

The Department of Nursing at Northwest Nazarene University provides undergraduate, degree completion and graduate programs related to the professional field of nursing. We are nationally accredited and offer programs that can meet the needs of students in a wide variety of settings.
